Annual ADF Lecture
We are pleased to announce our upcoming annual lecture and events.

Our annual American Druze Foundation lecture this year will feature a panel discussion under the theme of “Generating Sectarianism: Occupation, War, and Intermarriage.”
The panel will feature the research of:
- Dr. Lara Deeb, Scripps College
- Dr. Maria Kastrinou, Brunel University London
- Dr. Dima Abi Saab, Georgetown University & ADF Scholar
Lara Deeb will discuss “the generative framework of sectarianism in thinking about the politics of intermarriage and social differences in Lebanon.”
Maria Kastrinou will examine the “relationship between sectarianism, occupation, and ethnic cleansing through the lens of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.”
Dima Abi Saab will consider the “afterlives of checkpoints established during the Lebanese Civil War of 1975-1990” to unpack the impact of specters of violence on the production of space in Lebanon.
